The first of its kind Sporting-Event in Cambodia that is Eco-Friendly, Stylish, and with a Purpose!
Yes, the Kulen Mountain Trek Run has a PURPOSE! Later, we will expand this a bit wider, and define deeper their so-called intention by weighing their mission and purpose.
Trek-Running in Kulen Mountain? They said it’s never been done before. I said, We are the first.
A statement from the spokesperson, and the director of Green G8, Mr. Jesse A. Atienza, during his presentation at the plenary hall of the Ministry of Environment, Phnom Penh city.
In addition to his remarks, Mr. Atienza also thanked H.E. Sao Sopheap for granting Green G8 with the exclusive rights in organizing this momentous and considered a historical sporting event that will take place on Kulen Mountain, this coming 10th of October 2020.
A PROJECT BY THE MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT
In leadership with the Ministry of Environment of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and to their effort in promoting Environmental Awareness, Responsible Management, and Eco-Tourism of protected areas, was the main driving force of this sporting event, and why we all have selected the Kulen Mountain in Siem Reap Province, as the perfect venue for holding the First of its Kind Eco-Friendly Sporting Event, The Kulen Mountain Trek Run.

WHY KULEN MOUNTAIN?
Because of its pristine beauty, and historical value, and ecological symbolism, we believed that Kulen Mountain fits perfectly with our event’s description, purpose and mission.
Having the opportunity of interviewing the whole team, Mr. Ericson Bongo, Green G8’s Trek-Consultant and Race Director explained in brief of why they have chosen Kulen Mountain.
In this mountain range, you will find the famous Phnom Kulen National Park. A local, but a popular destination in Siem Reap attracting hundreds, if not, thousands of visitors daily.
Our Trek-Run promotes the Kulen Mountain!
Apart from being a sacred mountain, it is also historical. With an elevation of 498 meters above sea level, scholars of Angkorian History strongly believed that Jayavarman 2 set his foot on this mountain, declare independence, and locate The Site for the establishment of the famous Angkor Wat.
Holding a handful number of discovered temple ruins, archaeologists believed that their search in Kulen Mountain is far from over.
Because of its biodiversity and raw qualities, Trek Running participants are expected to be challenged not only physically, but mentally, while enjoying the panoramic view of the mountain.
GREEN G8'S CONTRIBUTION
As the architect for this unique and historical sporting event in Kulen Mountain, our program circumnavigates with Ministry of Environment’s main virtues, and those are;
– the importance of Environmental Awareness
– exercise of Responsible Management, and,
– the Protection of Eco-Tourism Sites
Understanding the magnitude, Green G8 assures that these so-called virtues will translate into a clear purpose.
The team cleverly crafted their design-approach, so these virtues will absorb quickly through a symbiotic action, that participants will surely cherish for a long time.
Our Purpose will drive us to the summit!
To design, and deliver a project-event that is eco-centric is no easy task. In addition to the challenge, breaking the norm, and distance matters. The team understood this and dissected all possible rejections, but still, the Purpose outweighs the threats.
Because of our purpose, it will drive us all to the summit. It will be the talk of the whole Siem Reap province, if not, the entire country.

Kulen Mountain Trek-Run promises to be different!
We have learned so much from the past marathon events in Siem Reap. Now that it is our turn, we promised not to repeat what other Event Management Companies have missed or forget.
We knew that there are lots of room for improvement, and we are more than willing to raise the stakes and set a higher bar that can be used by others as a standard.

We are creating History! We are leaving a set of Footprints for others to follow!

Green G8 believes that the Kulen Mountain will become the Top Trek Destination in Cambodia, and it will attract Top Athletes, and Trek Runners from around the globe on visiting Kulen Mountain.
On a grander scale, the Kulen Mountain Trek-Run will surely benefit both the Environment and the Tourism Industry of Cambodia.
As the initiator of this program, the Ministry of Environment is optimistic that in the future, our sporting event will help improve the lives of people in the local community of Kulen Mountain. Through this program, it will help to lessen forest fires, increase the numbers of local-trek tour guides, improve the sales of home-grown fruits and vegetables, and many more.
